Special Days for Meditation – October 2010

Submitted by on October 1, 2010 – One Comment

This month is dominant with the presence of energies from the Divine Mother, the Goddess energy.  Adi Shakti as She is known, is the prime creative force, the Prakruti out of which the entire manifestation progressed further. This is the occasion to remember the pervasive presence of Adi Shakti and experience Her.

With Her energies, the opportunities are in abundance to surrender to God through prayers and meditation. A lot of karmas will get washed away at the individual level and at the collective levels as well.

This month also contains new opportunities to open up to newer energies which the Rishis will be releasing. These new energies will benefit us immensely.

 October 7 – Mahalaya Amavasya

The period from the 24th of September till the new moon on 7th of this month is the period to connect to our departed ancestors and pay our regards to them.

This activity can be done more intensely on this Amavasya day. The purpose of connecting with the departed ancestors is to express our Love for them and also to learn from their Wisdom.

A simple way of doing this is to take the help of Light. We sit down like in Meditations facing North. We imagine a Golden ball of Light collecting in our mentally extended hands for about 2 minutes. We then link up to our elders and ancestors with our strong intent and then offer this ball of Light to them.

Experience the golden Light that we offered to the elders for 7 minutes. Through this Golden Light, we will be able to interact with them.

This is also the day when we go within easily to introspect, contemplate and learn.

 October 8 – Navaratri Begins

Nava-ratri means 9 days and nights. This is the period when the energies of Adi Shakti descends to our Earth. The Goddess is worshiped in 9 different forms on these 9 days. The energies from the Goddess are available in abundance and She can be experienced by all easily.

To understand more, the first 3 days (8th to 10th) contain more energies from the Durga aspect. This aspect is the Goddess of compassion and justice. That is why she has taken many forms to kill the demons to bring justice. She is also the Goddess of powers.

The next 3 days (11th to 13th) contain more energies from the Maha Lakshmi aspect. This aspect of the Goddess is the Goddess of both the material and Spiritual wealth. She is also the Goddess for detachment.

The last 3 days (14th to 16th) contain more energies from the Saraswati aspect. This aspect of the Goddess is the Goddess of learning.

During this period, be aware of Her presence and experience her as much as possible.

October 10 – “10-10-10”

This day is highlighted because of the numerological significance. This process began from 1st Jan 2001 (01-01-01) and will continue till the 12th of Dec 2012 (12-12-12). This year, on this day, many groups around the world are gathering and using the opportunity to spread the energies of Peace to the world through their intention and prayers. Many groups have also organised group Meditations.

The time organised it at 10:10 in the morning, local time all over the world. Anyone can join the entire humanity in praying for peace and transformation on this Earth.

On this Day, Rishis will also be releasing a lot of energies from Sirius and the Photon Belt to the Earth. We can be aware of it and absorb a lot of these energies. The energies are expected to initiate a lot of internal changes to the Earth.

October 15 – Durga Astami

Durga Astami is the day when Goddess Durga destroyed the demon Mahishasura, who had obtained a boon that nobody but a girl child would kill him. We worship her specially on this day.

October 16 – Worship of Saraswati and Ayudha Puja

Devi Saraswati, the Goddess of learning is worshiped on this day. Other than seeking more knowledge, the things that are used by us in everyday life are worshipped.

It also coincides with Ayudha Puja. This was the day when the Pandavas, the heroes of Mahabharata, after completing their 13 years of Exile, worshipped their weapons and chariots and set out to battle to reclaim their lost kingdom. As a rememberance of this occasion, people wash their tools, utensils and vehicles and worship them on this day.

This is also the day to remember the presence of God even in seemingly non-living things.

October 17 – Vijaya Dasami

Vijaya Dashami is the day when Lord Rama defeated and destroyed Ravana in an epic battle. It is said that he worshipped Adishakti for nine days, and with the help of her energies, destroyed the demon on the tenth day. This day stands as a symbol of the victory of the forces of Light over the forces of Darkness.

October 22 – Pournima

This Full Moon day is considered as a Blue Moon day because its the second Full Moon in the same Lunar month.

The Full moon Day or Pournima is the day when all energies are at their maximum potency. Because of this factor, this day is very good for both material and spiritual activities.

On this day, we are blessed by the Divine for any of the good deeds we do. Rishis say that it’s a very good day for Meditation, Prayers, Inner Healing and Positivising because the Spiritual Energies are at their best.

On this day, Rishis are planning to release a lot of new energies, for the first time on the Earth. They have named these energies as ‘Nirmula Spoorti Pralaya Shakti’ and are working very hard to make it available to the entire humanity.
