Special Days for Meditation — March 2019

Submitted by on March 3, 2019 – 2 Comments

Our transition to the Light Age is not very linear. Various developments and incidents occur all over the world which do not appear cohesive and leave us wondering at the state of affairs. At the individual level too, there are many instances where despite our efforts, we do not see the corresponding results.

A lack of clarity is understandable. The various events are difficult to comprehend logically. But the Divine has a clear plan and things are progressing as per that. The best way to sail through this period is to accept things the way they are, pause and breathe, and allow it to pass.

In fact during this period, developing this attitude of acceptance and allowing, is the easiest way to sail through.

This month we have the occasion of Shivaratri in the beginning and Holi and Equinox on consecutive days towards the end of the month. These are important days for Sadhana, contemplation and for internalising.

Spend some time in reflection and based on your observations make clear affirmations about what you want to do ahead, and channel your efforts towards them. The energies available on these occasions will help each individual immensely. We will also gain more clarity and understanding. Through this process, many of our prayers also get answered.

These occasions are very important opportunities at a vital time in our transition. May we make the best use of them.

The Special Days of March are—

4th March — Maha Shivaratri

We shall have the presence of Lord Shiva on Earth and it is a wonderful day to connect to Him and experience.

The Rishis mention that this year, he will be available to humanity only on the 4th and to make the best use of his presence on this day. His energies and Light will help each individual immensely in the period ahead.

The energies He brings this year will be very powerful and the Rishis will spread it all over the World as much as possible. It will be very silent however and its presence can only be felt subtly and in the background.

Lord Shiva can be better experienced in the form of Light rather than through the way of his form (amsha). Try to Meditate as much as possible on this day. While connecting to Lord Shiva, try to connect to his Wisdom, Love and Spiritual energies. You can practice the following technique after 12noon on the 4th. If interested, you can Meditate the entire night too if you want.

Face North
Duration – Meditate as long as you can. Practice only on the 4th, after 12noon. Can be practiced the entire night also.

Begin with 7 rounds of Pranayama with Golden Light.

First offer your love, respects and gratitude to Lord Shiva. Be mentally open to receive any form of Light and blessings from Him.

Then imagine Blue Light coming from Lord Shiva and allow it to fill your entire body slowly and gradually. Keep experiencing the Light throughout the entire duration of the Meditation.

Keep repeating the mantra “Om Namah Shivaya” silently throughout.

6th March — Amavasya

On this day, we connect to the Pitru Devatas and to our respective ancestors. We also use the opportunity to seek their blessings and work on healing the karmas and runas relating to our family ancestory, especially on the issues that is bothering us for a long time.

The energies of the New Moon also help us to be grounded and centred to a large extent. We can practice the following technique on this day.

Face North
Duration – 1 hour

Begin with 12 rounds of Pranayama with light-Blue Light

Pray to your ancestors for their blessings, guidance and also for ways to grow and evolve better.

Imagine bright light-Blue Light coming from the Moon and light-Green Light coming from your ancestors. Allow these energies to fill your entire body slowly and gradually. Experience for a couple of minutes and then imagine the body to be radiating and shining in this Light.

Then extend the same energies to your decisions and actions, behaviour and thought processes.

Keep experiencing this throughout the meditation. Repeat the mantra “Om Chandra Shaktiyai, Pitru Haritha Tejasayai Namaha”

.

20th March — Holi, Purnima

The 20th and 21st together will be very energetic and auspicous days due to the energies of Purnima and Equinox. These couple of days are very good for focusing on our Sadhana. We can place our prayers and Sankalpa to God and seek his Blessings. Let us also pray for a balance of our Spiritual and material aspects of life.

Holi is the occasion where we focus on clearing the inner negativity and work on clearing our karmas and runas. Pray to Lord Agni to help you with this. Practice the following technique.

Face North
Duration – 1 hour

Begin with 7 rounds of Pranayama with Golden Light.

First offer your respects and love to Lord Agni and pray to Him to help you burn your karmas, negativity and runas and that you receive his Light, energies and blessings.

Then imagine Orange Light coming from Agni Deva and allow this Light to fill you completely. Have a strong intent that this Light is burning your negativities, karmas and runas. Keep experiencing this for some time.

After experiencing for some time, imagine the negativities, karmas and runas to churn out of you and come out. Practice this till you feel Lighter.

For the remaining period, keep experiencing the Orange Light within.

Silently keep repeating the mantra “Om Karma Manthanaya, Agni Tejasayai Namaha” silently.

If you want, you can additionally practice the technique of Purnima to experience the energies from Chandra Deva.

.

21st March — Equinox

Equinox is when the Sun is directly over the Equator. This alignment helps in bringing down very important energies and anchoring them to Earth.

The new energies anchored to Earth are important at the global level and to the individual. These energies bring about large changes in the situations and circumstances of various events and a very important day.

Let us connect to the Equinox energies and experience them as much as possible.

Face North
